Rated one of The Country's 5 Best Rivers, the Kennebec River has one of the finest white water stretches in the East. Everyday from May through October, dam releases reach 4800 cfs (cubic feet per second) or more...that's a lot of whitewater!
The Kennebec River has it all! As a high volume river, the Kennebec is straight-forward and powerful with huge “roller-coaster-like” waves for an adrenaline-filled ride. The Middle Kennebec River widens and the rapids mellow, offering many opportunities for fun swims, waterfights and pure relaxation. A perfect river trip for those looking for a milder experience or families with with younger rafters.
Rowing Frames are available to take children as young as 8 down the Kennebec Gorge. (Minimum number of rafters required and additional fees apply to row frame trips)
